Sweden's airline pilot academy since 1989
SPU Flight Academy is one of Sweden's oldest and most experienced flight schools. We train airline pilots on airplanes and helicopters — from zero hours to a finished pilot.
SPU was founded in 1989 on a simple idea: train pilots properly. Not shortcuts, not minimums — pilots who are actually employable in the airplane and helicopter industry from day one.
Our headquarters are in Gothenburg and flight operations are conducted from Lidköping/Hovby (ESGL). Our own fleet includes Diamond DA40 and DA42 for airplane training, Robinson R22 and R44 for helicopter, plus an FNPT II simulator. We are an EASA-approved ATO and follow Part-FCL in every part of our programs.
Behind the operation stands a team of instructors with deep backgrounds in airline flying, helicopter operations, and military aviation. Many went through SPU themselves.
